Guernsey County Housing Instability Crisis
Lue Haven recognizes that homelessness and housing insecurity are complex issues with no single cause or simple solution. Factors like rising housing costs, limited affordable housing options, financial hardship, disability, health challenges, transportation barriers, and gaps in community resources can create obstacles that many individuals and families struggle to overcome.
Through joining the Guernsey County Community Development Corporation Housing Coalition, Lue Haven is committed to helping bridge gaps within existing systems and supporting solutions that strengthen our community. By bringing together residents, service providers, advocates, and community partners, we can work toward a future where safe housing is not a privilege, but a foundation that every person has the opportunity to access.
Wage Equality for People with Disabilities
Many people with disabilities continue to face barriers in the workforce, including limited employment opportunities, outdated policies, and systems that undervalue their abilities. Lue Haven believes that disability should never be a reason someone is excluded from economic independence, professional growth, or the dignity that comes from being fairly compensated for their work.
Through advocacy, education, and coalition building, we are committed to raising awareness about wage inequality affecting people with disabilities and working toward more inclusive employment practices. By partnering with community members, employers, advocates, and policymakers, we aim to challenge barriers, amplify the voices of individuals with disabilities, and support systems that recognize ability, potential, and contribution.
