Meet the Founder
Alyssa Giesey
For most of my career, I've worked alongside children, families, and individuals facing challenges that often go unseen. Through years in social services, inpatient mental health care, education, and behavioral support, I learned something that continues to shape everything we do at Lue Haven: people don't need to be "fixed." They need to be understood, supported, and given opportunities to succeed.
I'm currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with the intention of becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and one day, Doctor of Social Work (DSW). One of the driving forces behind Lue Haven is my belief that lasting change requires more than helping individuals adapt. It requires improving the systems that shape their lives. By blending the strengths-focused perspective of positive psychology with the evidence-based principles of behavior analysis, I hope to bridge gaps throughout our communities where support, accessibility, education, and opportunity have fallen short. Whether it's connecting families with resources, designing programs that remove barriers to success, advocating for underserved populations, or creating environments where people can truly flourish, my goal is to build solutions that strengthen both individuals and the systems that serve them. As someone who has experienced both personal and professional challenges, I understand that growth is rarely a straight line. That perspective has strengthened my commitment to creating a community where people are met with dignity instead of judgment.
Thank you for being here. Whether you're a parent, educator, volunteer, community partner, or someone who believes in investing in our community, I'm grateful you're part of this journey. Together, we can build a community where everyone has the opportunity to grow, belong, and SHINE.
